Curious Souls - A Spiritual Study Group
Sundays, 2:00 pm, Room 102 (The Parlor), "Rather than being so ready to jump into action to get the things that you want, we say think them into being; see them, visualize them, and expect them - and they will be.” --Esther Hicks
Like meditation, real spiritual study is often more effective in a supportive setting--in a group of like-minded seekers. We are a collection of interested, curious souls who intend to encounter and explore authentic spirituality. Our primary goal is to assimilate spiritual concepts and learn to apply them to our everyday lives. Within the group we are free to express (or not) our own appeal to spiritual processes.
Join Jill Lahnstein and Rhonda Limoges on Sundays at 2 pm to study and discuss sacred texts, spiritual poetry, new ideas, and empowering thought--in an open, welcoming environment.
Curious Souls will be showing the Louise Hay movie, You Can Heal Your Life on December 10th. There will be no more meetings in December.
January 7: Begin book discussion on the Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield.
Friday Morning Book Study
Fridays, 10:00 - 11:45 a.m. The Friday Book Study group is reading Awakening the Buddha Withing by Lama Surya Das. The Book Study Group meets every Friday morning in the Fellowship Hall to discuss a variety of books or videos. Questions? Call Barbara McGirt for information. Join us!
A Course in Miracles
Sundays and Wednesdays, 7:00 -8:30 p.m. A Course In Miracles teaches a thought system – a way of seeing and understanding—based on love and oneness with Spirit and with each other, as contrasted with the thought system the world teaches which is based on fear and separation. The Course shows how our human (or ego) minds resists these ideas because of our attachment to our separate bodies.
The group meets on Sunday evenings in the parlor and in the Uniteen room on Wednesdays. We read the text together and discuss the material. We welcome you to visit to see if this is for you. The book also includes a workbook section made up of daily lessons. For more information contact Kate Martin.
Mondays at 7:00 p.m. A unique group welcoming all men who wish to grow spiritually and mindfully through open-minded and compassionate discussion in a safe, confidential fellowship. All men are welcome!
Tuesdays, 5:00-7:00 p.m. After a 2012 visit by dr. michael ryce, Unity of Wilmington formed a support group to encourage each other in the use of forgiveness tools he teaches. All are welcome to join us. If you have questions, please contact Susan Darnell at 910-547-2255.
Emmet Fox Discussion Group
Saturdays, 11:00 am - 12:00 p.m. The group is open to all from the greater Wilmington community and will begin with The Sermon on The Mount. What did Jesus teach? Distilled from years of study and lecture, affirmed by nearly a million readers over the last fifty years, Emmet Fox's answer in The Sermon on the Mount is simple: The Bible is a "textbook of metaphysics" and the teachings of Jesus express--without dogma--a practical approach for the development of the soul and for the shaping of our lives into what we really wish them to be. For Fox, Jesus was "no sentimental dreamer, no mere dealer in empty platitudes, but the unflinching realist that only a great mystic can be." Facilitated by Terri Mann.
The Power of Eight Intention Group
Sundays at 6:00 pm. Based on the book by Lynne McTaggart, scientific studies on the power and results of groups gathering and praying with an intention. What can we change inour lives, the lives of others, our community and our planet? The intentions may be personal, for friends, for a group, a spiritual community or for our nation. Leader Donna DeGutis is committed to serving for one year and asks you to consider the same level of commitment. Love offering.
