Welcome!

Welcome to Youth and Family Ministry at Unity of Wilmington! Our youth and family programs honor each child and family as an expression of the Divine. We instill in our children the Truth that they are magnificent, holy children of God, just the way they are. Each Sunday our children and teens explore Unity principles and teachings in a fun, engaging, safe and interactive environment.

In our youth ed program we have two primary questions that we ask ourselves about each child...How do they feel about themselves and do they recognize the Divine in themselves and others? To achieve this we teach lessons that cultivate their relationship with the Divine as well as helping them to develop kind and loving relationships with themselves and others. We witness our children speaking to God as their best friend! Our lessons utilize playful, fun activities involving prayer, meditation, stories and the creative arts. Contact Rachael.

Easter Party, April 15, 1:00 - 3:30 pm

This is one of the best Easter parties in all of Wilmington with a bouncy house, games, an Easter Egg hunt, and an Easter Bunny.  Parents may stay or drop children off.

Youth Led Service, April 30, 9:00 and 11:00 am

Our children will be leading the Sunday service - yes, they will!  Please bring your children to Sunday School as often as possible in the month of April to prepare for a Children's Choir and their specific contribution to the Sunday Lesson.

Youth Education

Each classroom is staffed by a team of loving and dedicated volunteers who enthusias-tically guide our youth through their own personal discovery of their relationship with God.  What a powerful impact we can have on their lives! In a typical week after checking your children in with Holly, they spend ten minutes in the Sunday service with the adults. Moving into the classrooms, our lessons then become age specific. Prior to the end of each service, the children and teens join the adults in the Sanctuary for a special blessing acknowledging their contributions to our spiritual family, followed by the Peace Song and the Prayer for Protection. See how our classes are organized.

Support our Youth!

Our Youth and Family Ministry is mostly self supporting and as such, we always welcome any financial support to help our Uniteens and Y.O.U. travel to their off-campus events as well as the purchase Unity curriculum and learning supplies.

Two Annual Events!  The scrumptious Pancake Breakfast in the Fall and the Red Hot Chili Cook-off in the Spring.  Yum!

“I am constantly amazed by the depth of spiritual understanding our youth share with me and am thankful for the opportunity to a part of their empowerment.”  Rev. Mindy Tucker
