Why Not?
How many times have we talked ourselves out of something before we ever gave it a chance?
We say:
-
“I’m not ready.”
-
“What if I fail?”
-
“Maybe later.”
-
“Someone else could do it better.”
And little by little, we begin shrinking our lives around our fears instead of expanding into our possibilities.
But what if we asked a different question?
Instead of “Why me?”
What if we asked… “Why not me?”
Why not be the one who starts over?
Why not take the class, launch the idea, make the call, set the boundary, follow the dream, trust the inner nudge?
Too often, we wait for perfect certainty before taking action. But purpose rarely arrives with a complete roadmap. It unfolds through willingness. Through movement. Through faith.
Sometimes the greatest spiritual growth happens the moment we stop asking for guarantees and start saying yes to possibility.
As Wayne Dyer once said:
“Go for it now. The future is promised to no one.”
And perhaps that’s the invitation before us:
Not to have everything figured out, but to stop holding ourselves back from the life trying to emerge through us.
Because here’s the truth:
-
You do not need to feel fully ready.
-
You do not need everyone’s approval.
-
You do not need absolute clarity.
You simply need the courage to take the next step. Purpose grows through participation.
This Week’s Reflection:
-
Where in my life have I been saying “Why me?”
-
What becomes possible if I ask “Why not?”
Join us this Sunday for “Why Not?” as we explore how faith, courage, and possibility can help us answer the call of purpose and step more fully into the life we are here to live.
Warmly,
Rev. Ellen
